Week 20 (October 3, 2016)

General Conference

Me and hermann Chiguano at Plaza Norte

Moroni and Damaris at General Conference at the Stake Center

I hope everyone enjoyed Conference weekend! And if you didnt watch or listen to them, they are always on lds.org, so go do that :) As for conference, I had to watch it in spanish with our stake and as some of you remember Allys expirience, mine was similar. I could understand the main topic and theme because I recognized the main words, but getting inspiration or understanding everything did not happen. Which made me kind of bummed. But we had some investigators come! and I was just hopeing  they would get something out of it.  I will figure out a way to get them in English. But Saturday night to celebrate conference, during priesthood session, me and my comp went and got pizza for dinner, which normally we dont eat dinner (because lunch is so big) so it was a treat.

Last Pday we went to Plaza Norte, the big mall, about an hour away, and I saw my old comp Hna Chiguano and tons of other missionaries.  So great. We also ate at Chiles again. Which is aways so great to have americanized latin american food.

This week we have been teaching Damaris (investigator, 20) and Moroni (less active, 25). They live together, but Moroni started coming back to church and Damaris wants to get baptized and they want to get married! We taught Law of Chastity and they can feel that they are doing something not right, and want to become better. Damaris says she feels guilty when she prays. Which is the spirit telling her somethings wrong.  They also came to both sessions on Sunday with us! They are so great so we will see what happens.

We also have 2 baptisms on Saturday, which we havent had a baptism in 2 months so its pretty exciting. Celeste (20) and Orlando (25). (Stories not related) But it is amazing to see the change in peoples lives!

I love this gospel and am so greatful for all of you and your support to me. I know this church is true and learn something new every day!  The mission, even though at times is difficult and uncomfortable, is amazing and when it is awkward or uncomfortable it just means I need more practice.

I love you all,
Love, Hna Smoot
