Riding Bikes with the Zone on P-Day

The beautiful park during our bike ride

Hello from PERU!
This week was another pretty normal week. Last Pday we went to this park in another area. It was like a park with basketball, soccer courts, swimming and horses, which of course we couldnt do, and roller coasters which we didnt do either, and BIKES!! It was so much fun. For the first time in my mission we rode bikes around the gardens and it was so wonderful. We were sore after which was sad to say but kind of funny because it was only for 30 minutes.

This week we also started teaching this guy who owns an icecream story.  We were walking by and its all outside and my comp said, hey I want some icecream, which apparently doesnt usually do that but just felt like we should get icecream, and ended up teaching the guy and taught him 2 more times this week! He also gave us free icecream every time... not just one but 2! It was a little much, but we were greatful for his service to us.

Oh also I found oatmeal here! Which makes me happy. And it is a lot cheaper than cereal. So I had that for breakfast on sunday when we dont have breakfast.

We are also teaching Damaris (investigator) who is living with her boyfriend Moroni (less active).  They have both been coming to church for the past month and have decided to get married!! The mission holds a wedding every month for a lot less money, so if all goes well, they will be married at the end of next month! And Damaris wants to get baptized! Which she can the day after they get married.  It is so exciting! It is so amazing to see the lord touch the lives of people when they make correct choices and follow the gospel.  I have learned that we can only be blessed when we follow the gospel in its entirety. If we only follow half the commandments, then god can only bless us half the way.

I also had a work visit this week, where I went to our sister training leaders area and her comp went to our area for 24 hours, so it was 2 gringas again which is always a blast.

I am learning everyday and I know with out a doubt I am supposed to be here. There is only one more week in this transfer, which is crazy.  I am so greatful for all your love and support!

Love, Hna Smoot
