| The TEMPLE! with the beautiful Christmas nativity there |
Well, this week was amazing, because last monday we after writing home, we went to work like normal, and so on Wednesday, WE WENT TO THE TEMPLE!!!! and it was my very first time going in the field! President said everyone can go 3 times a year! so I will be looking forward to go next year again. :) We got there by train, which is like a subway, but instead of in the ground, its above everything in the air. It took a total of about 1.5 hours because our area is one of the farthest from the temple. but it was DEFINETLY worth it. which we also got to do initiatories too! Which after depating, I asked and got to listen to the session in English. I know spanish, but this doesnt happen that often so ya. It was so wonderful and the spirit was SO STRONG in the temple. I love the temple so much!! It truly is a house of god.
Funny story. on Thursday, me and my comp were walking and talking on the side walk going to an appointment, and I was kind of looking down at the floor and diagnol toward my comp, and all of the sudden I ran into this cement ledge that stuck out that I didnt see and I hit my head so hard I fell down and embaressingly started crying from the pain! My comp didnt know what to do and an old investigator happened to come by and asked if we needed to go to the hospital, which I definelty did not so it was funny, but they drove us home and I had a HUGE goose egg on my head right by my hair line and today, 4 days later, still hurts to touch. So that was my funny story of the week. But dont worry, I am ok haha.
Also Nicol Chavez, (16 years old) came to church again!! And we have a baptism date set for this saturday!!! After about 3 or 4 months of no baptisms, god is finally blessing our area, and I hope all works out. Nicol is so excited to! so we are hurring to finish her lessons so she can be baptized on christmas eve, A christmas she will never forget!!
We also had interviews this week with president and deep cleaned our appartment, and let me just say, President Godfrey is seriously the best!! He explained to us as well a different way he wants us to do missionary work by working more with the bishop and finding Part member families ect. We are excited to see what happens :)
I love this gospel so much!! I know with all my heart that this church is true. The atonement is real, and our heavenly father loves us so so so much and know us each individually and knows our thoughts and worries and I know that if we live this gospel to the fullest and try everyday humbly to become better and become like christ by following his example, we will be blessed beyond what we can imagine!! I know we have trials and are sad sometimes to be tried in this life and if we respond well, we can grow, so we should be greatful for our trials, because it just means god is trying to teach us something :)
I love you all,
MERRRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Love, Hermana Smoot
