Week 24 (October 31, 2016)

Happy Halloween! I dressed up as Hermana Meza and Hermana Meza as me! Haha the typical missionary halloween costume!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Wow this week was so crazy but its been a good one.  Well, on Monday night we found out our Combios! and so Monday night and Tuesday morning I packed up my things and MOVED TO MAGNOLIOS zone, area Bayovar. I said goodbye to my first area in the mission, but I was excited and ready for a little change. Change is good.  Anyway, my new companion is Hna Meza from Paraguay and is super awesome.  I am also the senior companion, which I have no idea why because she has been in the mission for 1 year and I have only been hear about 6 months. Not really sure what that means either. But I will move forward in faith and hope all goes well.  She also loves bananas so we have been eating bananas and hard boiled eggs for breakfast pretty much every morning and I love it.
It was also Lillys birthday this past week, which suprisingly was also my District Leaders birthday and so we had cake and everything and had breakfast with a member who made FRENCH TOAST! Which is not normal so I was really excited. But it was just funny that it was both of there birthdays. And I think also a tender mercy from god.
Also there was an earthquake this week! It wasnt huge but at about 11 at night I sat up in my bed from shaking and everything was vibrating.  I called out to my comp "Hermana!" who replied "Oh its just a little tremble (in spanish)" and she just felt a little at the end. We found out the next day it was bigger than we thought.  So crazy. I have never felt one before. Only a little vibration 2 times in my other area.
Also my Spanish has somehow (Im positive its help from God) gotten a lot better. I still am missing a lot of words and past tense is still hard but I can communicate to other missionaries and when I teach, its better than before.  I still cant teach alone like a whole lesson, but I know everything will be ok.  Also, there are 3 new americans in my district and I am the oldest Gringa, which is really wierd and means that I am not a newbie anymore.
The people here are amazing and actually want to listen to us! Its so crazy at times when I start lacking confidence and then they start to actually listen with interest and its a reminder that we are just the intruments and the holy ghost is the teacher!

I love it here.  Its sometimes hard and sad and other days so happy and excited, but its all part of the growing process and I know with out a doubt that I am supposed to be here and that God has an amazing plan for each and every one of us! I know he loves and knows us very much! And that this gospel is absolutely true!
I love you all! Have a wonderful Happy Halloween! Eat lots of sugar for me cause they dont really celebrate it here, but we might carve pumkins for PDay!
Love, Hna Smoot
